How do you touch God? By connecting with the source.

Countless times in my life, I’ve longed for God to hug me or at least touch me just so I could have that undeniable proof of His existence.

Then I gazed into the face of my sleeping baby and saw the handy work of God lying beside me.  I walked into my garden and watched the roses buds burst open with ebullient color and life.  I breathed deeply at the awe of His majesty and my inhale met His lips as I realized that my very breath was a miracle too.  As I embraced the ephemeral beauty of life, God’s hand held mine.  As I marveled at the artful landscape surrounding me, God’s arms wrapped around me. As I drank from the essence of life, inhaling all of God’s splendor I realized that God was everywhere, in everything.   I realized that my humanity is an expression of God’s personality.

The rhythm of nature never ceases. It can not be impeded. If you look in places of desolation, you will discover the emergence of new life. For example, a volcano erupts and destroys everything in its path, but with time the earth heals and foliage regrows.
Similarly, a walk through a garden heals a wounded heart and clarifies the soul.  Resting at the ocean’s edge mutes the noise of life and imbues tranquility. Observing the trees as they sway and listening to the morning chirps of birds remind us that we are alive.
Peace is a tangible energy permeating our surroundings.  Make the choice to disconnect from the business we often feel is worthy of our entire being and rest in the beauties throughout the landscape of our lives.
Remember to:
1. Take the time to observe a flower not judging how or where it’s growing but that it is growing.
2. Breathe deeply where you are standing and listen to the life-giving air as you inhale.
3. Open your eyes. Search for magnificence in nature.
4. Stop and listen.  Hear the buzz of energy near you. Identify what you are hearing.
5. Close your eyes.  Give yourself the grace to allow the spirit to inspire you. Open yourself to experience God in the creation.
Connect with nature and embrace the subtle affirmations whispered by the world around you.
