The Sky Was Bluer Today

The Sky Was Bluer Today

Have you ever looked at the sky and it seemed bluer?

Today I woke up and looked outside, and I swear the blue was bluer.

The clouds seemed fluffier or maybe it’s just that I felt better.

The world looks better when you’re rested. When you take a moment to recalibrate, readjust, and see yourself again.

Today I woke up. I got started and smiled.

I didn’t smile just on my face, but from the inside from my soul.

My soul smiled because I finally realized that the trajectory of my future is not based on people or things. It all comes back to me.

  • My energy.
  • My focus.
  • My ability to put my hand to pencil and paper.
  • My ability to turn my thoughts into action.
  • My ability to calm my greed and my desire for everything all at once.

As I stood there looking at that cerulean blue sky, I realized something.

I spend a lot of time thinking about what I want.

  • The next opportunity.
  • The next goal.
  • The next dream.
  • The next accomplishment.

But none of those things determine where my life goes from here.

I do.

Not because I control everything. I don’t.

But because I control what I do with the gifts God gave me.

  • I control whether I start.
  • I control whether I keep going.
  • I control whether I focus on what matters instead of being distracted by everything else.

Today I feel like it’s the first day of the rest of my life because today I realized that I control my destiny.

And for that, I thank God.

Because He gave me the creative power to build, create, dream, and act.

And the beautiful thing is that He gave you that same creative power too.

So, whatever it is that you’ve been dreaming about, start.

  • Write it down.
  • Take the first step.
  • Make the phone call.
  • Send the email.
  • Trust yourself enough to begin.

The sky wasn’t really bluer today.

I just finally stopped long enough to see it.

Life isn’t perfect. But progress is still beautiful.  Getinspiredagain
